Our workshops are designed to help artists reach new levels of their artistry and are centered mostly around the art of Spoken Word Poetry. The goal of each session is to provide poets/artists with new tools, techniques of the trade, and or a new piece of writing they would not have written otherwise. Workshop sessions are led by professional artists and active community members of the booming Tampa Bay art scene!

DENNIS AMADEUS

From working with homeless youth, young journalists, prep school kids and incarcerated citizens, Dennis Amadeus has a knack of helping you find the beauty in your own story, no matter where you are from. It is those unique perspectives that will inspire the lines of your poetry with powerful, thought provoking words. We live in a world constantly telling us who we are and how we should be. Dennis Amadeus poetry workshop will give you the tools to fight back against those narratives and help define your life and yourself, for yourself.

ZACH KATZ

Zach Katz is a poet, performer, mental health clinician who believes in the power of narrative as a means of growth and development. Zach has used his passion for storytelling and narrative to work with teens in the NYC public school system. He has also taught creative writing to college bound youth at NYU’s Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools. Zach has facilitated and delivered poetry and spoken workshops centered around identity and mental health for the National Association of Poetry Therapy. He has also used expressive writing as a therapeutic modality in his private practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Zach looks forward to holding space for you to hone your craft and develop your voice.

ZENCHRISTIAN DAVIS

ZenChristian Davis is a Black fiction writer turned poet, author, multidisciplinary artist and overall storyteller in many forms. A writer since childhood, her work has slowly transformed from a world solely rooted in imagination into one immersed in metaphor and self reflection. After graduating from University of South Florida with a BA in Creative Writing, ZenChristian started facilitating workshops and coaching slam for Heard Em Say Youth Arts Collective. Her workshops explore unconventional ways to use literary techniques in poetry and healthy ways to write vulnerable or traumatic content. ZenChristian believes that all rules in writing are meant to be broken and then rebuilt. She looks forward to helping you dismantle what you know and reimagine what is possible.

CHARLES HINES

Charles will say, "Writing is the only thing he knows how to do." He spent a lot of money majoring in English at the University of Central Florida. Serving on the executive board of Project:SPIT, the school poetry organization, Charles became a known name in the Orlando Art community. He began teaching poetry his junior year of college and has since taught workshops for all ages. As a career poet, poetry has taken Charles everywhere from: Los Angeles, to Chicago, to Miami. His first poetry book Heart Feelings is available on Amazon. Charles believes in creating spaces where people can transform as artists and as people. Art is accessible to anyone willing to welcome it.
